Intuition

Wat is intuition exactly?

The dictionary defines intuition as “the ability to understand or know something immediately based on your feelings rather than facts”. Approaching things through feeling is often seen as something unprofessional or vague, while approaching things from your intuition can actually be extremely valuable.

Unconsciously, we store information all day long. All our experiences, thoughts, feelings and physical signals form an enormous source of knowledge. Your intuition loves to use this information when you need to make a choice. Sometimes this happens so quickly that you hardly notice it rationally.

Therefore, your intuition is a particularly powerful instrument to use when you want to make a decision. Especially if it has to be done quickly, things are very complex, you don’t have all the facts or you cannot fully understand it rationally. Intuitions shows up as an insight, an inspiration or a feeling.

If you are insecure, anxious, experience a lot of stress, are guided by limiting thoughts or if you are down, it can be quite difficult to get in touch with your intuition. Fortunately, there are ways to get past the noise and train your intuition. This happens automatically through (life) experience, but you can also stimulate it by consciously using all your senses, seeking out the silence and listening to the feelings and signals from your body. It helps to organize your thoughts (for example in writing) and to reflect on them.

When you are connected to your intuition, you are connected to that wise part in yourself. The part that knows exactly what you want, what is important to you and shows you what path to take. You learn to recognize patterns (early), you trust yourself and your inner guidance, you make choices that suit you well and you are better able to deal with changes. All in all, it makes you more resilient.

Writing can increase your intuition. By regularly giving words to your thoughts and feelings, you give yourself the peace and space to turn inward and listen to your inner voice. This will give you answers to questions, insights that you did not have before or new inspirations will arise. Through intuitive writing, you will get to know yourself better and trust yourself more and more. There is nothing vague about this, but so essential for your mental well-being.
